How these figures are verified

Every specification is transcribed by hand from a manufacturer document: a brochure, datasheet, specification sheet, quick reference guide, or the manufacturer's own product page. The document is named on each entry with its reference code and date.

Source ranking

  1. A manufacturer specification sheet or datasheet carrying a document code and date.
  2. A manufacturer brochure or quick reference guide.
  3. A manufacturer's own product page or press release.

Distributor listings, resale sites, conference posters and published studies are not used as sources.

Why entries say "Not stated"

Because manufacturers publish different things. Filling those gaps from a competitor's figure or an educated guess would make the site more useful-looking and less true, so the gaps stay.

Price bands

Price is shown as one to three stars rather than a figure, because single-use scope pricing in the UK is almost entirely negotiated. Bands are relative to the other devices in this catalogue, reflect indicative UK list pricing for the scope alone, exclude console, service, accessories and VAT, and are not quotations.

Regulatory status

Recorded only where a document on file states it. A scope being on sale in the UK is not a citation for a UKCA mark.
